Item #: K221 SOLD
Antique Cowboy Bunkhouse
Antler-Handled Knife This antler-handled knife came from an old ranch house in Wyoming. It is marked, but so worn that we are unable to ascertain the words. It is in the style of the knives made in Sheffield, England for export across the Atlantic in the 1850's and 1860's - deliberately being manufactured to copy the 'Bowie' and Frontier trend that was popular at the time. The handle is attached to the tang by 1 row of three small nails. The piece has been in our collection for many years, when it was purchased from another collector. Overall length: 9 3/4 inches
Blade length: 5 1/2 inches
Guard: 2 1/4 inches
Handle: 3 7/8 inches
long
Maker Markings:
illegible
Blade Thickness (@
thickest part): 1/8"
Weighs 5.05 ounces
