Item #HHB309 / $2,700.
About this Unique Horsehair Bridle Set: This bridle set was acquired at a Western Show in Cody, WY. The set came from an estate in Arizona. The bridle set dates to the early twentieth century and is beautifully simple, created with an obvious eye to color and pattern. The weave is spiral and all parts of this hitched horsehair is round, indicating that it is Native American in origin. It has leather buckles at the bit and the head and polished flat metal conchos at the cheeks. An unusual antique bridle in very good condition. The bridle measures 23" in length and the reins are 97" long, including 12" of supple leather poppers. The bit that was ridden with this rig is engraved with a detailed gal leg pattern, including bloomers and patterned stockings. Obviously a much-treasured piece of the original owner's tack.
