Early Ed Bohlin Classic Western Working Saddle Ed Bohlin Matching Holster (revolver shown for display purposes only)
About This Antique Bohlin-Made Saddle, Holster and Gunbelt:
About The Maker, Edward H. Bohlin: Edward H. Bohlin emigrated from Sweden in 1920 with a dream of being a cowboy. He worked on Western ranches, including one owned by the famous William 'Buffalo Bill' Cody. He opened up a leather shop in Cody, Wyoming and learned his trade. A chance meeting with Tom Mix led Ed Bohlin to the harness shop at MGM Studios and his well-earned reputation as 'Saddlemaker to the Stars' began. Bohlin opened a Shop in Hollywood close to the Al Furstnow Company, which was part of the famous saddle shop Bohlin had visited earlier in Miles City, Montana. Edward Bohlin's leather work and silver-smithing made his saddles, gun leather, knife sheaths, spurs, boots, decorative conchos, buckles and bullets the most coveted and collectible. Although the fancy saddles Bohlin designed for cowboy stars provided him with great publicity, his stock designs sold to private horsemen were probably his greatest source of day-to-day income.
