About The Colts:
This pair of Colt Single Action .45 Caliber revolvers belonged to Harold B. Davis, Captain of the Oceanside Police Department (from 1930 to 1955). He considered these his "Parade" guns. One, serial #299,XXX, is marked in two places: W F & Co. and WF&C. It was carried by a messenger for Wells Fargo & Co. between Dodge City and St. Joseph, Missouri, The Wells Fargo Express. The other, Serial #7021 / 13581 / 37764 was carried by a Texas Ranger out of El Paso, Texas. It was used in the Government Service and has U.S. stamped on it. 1871-1875. Captain Davis had these guns re-nickled in the 1930's. He wore these guns in a hand-tooled double Mexican Concho holster rig (included in this set).
