Carmel Saddlery Chaps

These gorgeous antique Carmel Saddlery chaps are made with the best artistry and craftsmanship of the day. They are marked -- CARMEL / FRESNO, CAL. on both sides of the waist.  This pair of beautiful chaps are in excellent condition.  The leather is supple and all parts including leather conchos and strings are in place.  The engraving of the belt is really superbly done.

Carmel Saddlery had it's workshop in Fresno, California.  Featured in the book "Old Cowboy Saddles and Spurs" by Hutchins, this mark is from 1915-1920.   The chaps measure 40 inches from top to bottom.
