Item #UA120 SOLD
Beautiful Leather Cowboy Cuffs
As with most cowboy wear, they became a fashion accessory, made to reflect the individuality of the wearer. Where the purely utilitarian version of cuffs were laced, they began to feature brass and nickel spots and tacks, buckles, and intricate designs carved and stamped in the leather. Those worn by rodeo and wild west show performers were the flashiest of all. These cuffs are 6 and 1/2 inches long. They date from 1900 to 1915 and are beautiful. The end of one of the straps that feeds into the buckle has ripped, but is still in the buckle. The interior circumference of the wrist end of these cuffs is 7 1/2 inches. They are 3inches wide by 2 1/2 inches high, in an oval-shaped opening that has conformed to the shape of the previous owner's wrist through long years of use.
