About The Maker:
Olsen Nolte Saddlery Company was started by Al Nolte and John Olsen in 1937. Al Nolte was in his early 60's when he opened his shop, having worked for most of his life for notable makers such as Visalia Stock Saddle Company, Herman Heiser Saddlery, Great West Saddlery and Main & Winchester. Walt Goldsmith took over the company in 1942 upon the death of Al Nolte. The company continued making the highest quality saddles into the 1950's. Today, Olsen Nolte is still very much in business in San Carlos, CA Olsen Nolte Saddle Shop. Although they no longer make any of their own products, the business has been in the same family for over 45 years. The quality is of the highest standards as always. Olsen-Nolte parade saddles in this condition are extremely difficult to find and extremely desirable.
