This is a rare example of a
pressed steer horn powder horn fitted with a brass self measuring
device, made between 1800 and 1810. Custom setting feature measures in 1/2 dram increments,
visible through a sight glass. Overall length is 10 1/2 inches.
The base is 3 inches by 1 1/2 inches. Note the horn piece at the
loading tube. A fantastic piece of muzzle
loading material and a beautiful piece of craftsmanship.
