About The Spurs:

These  spurs are simply a fantastic pair of spurs made by a modern artist who is now an internationally recognized Western Artist in the Old West arts. 

The spurs are marked in the proper fashion "T. C. H." behind the inside button of each spur.  Condition is exceptionally good.  These spurs measure 3 1/4" Wide at the opening of the yoke / Rowels are 2" in diameter with 18 exceptionally rendered points.  The overall length is 7".  The buttons measure 1/2". 

The leathers are quite nicely done, but it is the silver conchos that add the impressive touch to the beautifully basket stamped leatherwork.  They are 2" in diameter, rendered in the old style with a beautiful horse head shown wearing a bridle.

These spurs are extremely collectible and will serve as a great gift and investment.

About Montana Western Artist Todd Hansen:

Todd Hansen was raised in Montana and worked for a couple of horse ranches in the Billings area while he was in high school. He started building bits and spurs as a hobby in 1987 while working full time as a mechanic and welder and raising his family. In 2004, Todd decided to leave his job to pursue making bits and spurs full-time. Todd is a self-taught artist and has received help and advice from trusted friends. “I couldn’t have done it without advice from other makers I admire, too numerous to mention, but I sure tip my hat to them for their advice and patience with a beginner” he says.

Todd is one of the most talented makers of silver bits and spurs, as well as other fine western silver.  His Santa Barbara bit entry won 3rd Place at the Red Bluff Vaquero bit competition in 2002.  In 2003, he was selected to be a featured artist in the Martin volume of 'Bits and Spurs - Motifs, Techniques and Modern Makers". Todd was voted as 2009 Best Bit and Spur Maker at the 14th Annual Will Rogers Awards by the Academy of Western Artists.  In that same year he also won the Best In Show for the Bit Category at the 25th annual Elko Poetry Gathering.  His handmade jewelry is also in great demand because of the outstanding craftsmanship that goes into every piece.
